Christmas Centrepiece

Wondering what can you do with your little minis from last year's Advent Calendar... or what to do with your empty jars when this advent is over? Have a go at creating your very own beautiful Christmas centrepiece!

Equipment

  • a small jar of 30g Bonne Maman jam
  • a small wooden log
  • natural elements: fir branches, pine needles, cinnamon, cardamom, dried berries
  • a thin candle, 1.2cm in diameter
  • white acrylic paint
  • metallic gold paint
  • flat brush
  • hot glue gun
  • cutter
  • scissors

Method

  1. Apply one or two white coats of paint to the empty Bonne Maman jar. Let it dry.
  1. Using a flat paintbrush, finely and delicately make a few golden marks here and there to create a patina effect. Let it dry.

  1. With a cutter, cut a cross in the centre of the jar lid.
  1. Turn over and fold each triangle inwards.

  1. Screw the lid back on to the jar and insert the candle. Glue the candleholder to a small wooden log with hot glue.
  1. Decorate around the the candle holder with the fir branches, pine needles, cinnamon, cardamom and dried berries.
